Beading Babes

It's reveal day for me again.  This time as a challenge from Karyn at Releases by Rufydoof.  Since I let myself be unbelievably distracted by the blog hop for the Bead Soup I forgot to even find this piece.  I must say that my new attempt to make simple jewelry for my t-shirt and jeans lifestyle had me try 6 different stitches for the chain before I was happy with it.  Though it looks simple it was a lot of work making it simple.  I think if I'd continued the pattern it would have been much easier, but it'd have been yet another piece I'd never wear.  Oh and I threw together a set of earring using my favorite beading pattern and the beads for this project.  I love them together!  I wish I wasn't having a self-conscious day because they look amazing on. Well here they are:
Pattern found in December 2011 issue of Bead & Button magazine.  Ravishing Rosettes pattern designed by Smadar Grossman (page 38).

  6. Well done for finishing Ravishing Rosettes! I absolutely love your colour choice. I love the way you have finished off the necklace... I couldn't see myself making any more rosettes so I turned mine into a bracelet but I love your idea!

I can't copy and paste your images to post on my blog with everyone else's pieces so if you can please email me a picture of your necklace I'll add it to the post.

Thanks so much for taking part and hopefully we will see you for Project 4!

  13. I'm a stringer and I am challenging myself to learn this sort of work. Love the bead choices! The green iris beads are what got me into beading again from an old college "dabbling". I'm debating on trying this pattern. Would you say it is simple enough for a beginner?

    1. I wish I could say yes, but it wasn't for me. Usually the 3-4 repeat I can stop looking at the pattern, but I followed this one every time. Flipping the pages back and forth. If you love following directions though who knows it could very well turn out better than the one in the magazine. I'd never tell anyone not to try. It just wasn't easy for me.
