I used blue and green trim to symbolize the colors I felt best represented nature since the focal is a tree. It began to look like roots and branches to me with underground water flowing below as well.
And a branch style clasp to tie it all together.
I must say I was impressed with the finishing of the ends which is not one of my strengths. The image below shows 3 places I finished ends.
And the back is really great in my opinion. I was hoping I wouldn't have to cover it because I love the free spaces.
Well, I guess I explained it just fine. Click any of the pictures to see a larger image.

Oh and if you read all this way I guess I should tell you I hurt one finger with a door, one with a drawer and the last on the floor. Boy I wish I was making this up. I could have just said from being clumsy, but what fun would that be.

Oh wow, I am completely blown away. I have never seen anything like this. o_o
ReplyDeleteGINGER! This piece is so awesome!!!! Soutache! I have not been brave enough to give this a shot - but you really did 'let it flow' with this and it came out great. It's really a statement piece and you should be proud to wear it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for participating in the challenge/hop!!!!
Awesome - Love what you did with the soutache!

ReplyDeleteOh Ginger that is just beautiful, what a fabulous piece. Your soutache is incredible. I am in awe!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Soutache is still kind of difficult for me, to the extent that I think you have done some sort of magic here. Thanks for sharing this! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove it Ginger! I know better than to try Soutache... another addiction would push me right over the beading edge. LOL I really appreciate you pulling in the earthy green and blue and sharing the meaning behind how you designed it. Your necklace turned out beautiful... now take care of those little fingers.
ReplyDelete{Hugs!}
Wow. Freestyle and soutache? This is beyond stunning. It is just perfect. I hope your fingers heal soon.
ReplyDeleteSoutache....WOW your really did incredible!
ReplyDeleteWow. I just don't even know where to begin. Please tell me this was not your first time using soutache. Cause that is the most gorgeous piece!!
ReplyDeleteI enlarged the pic you said had 3 endings in it, and could only find two after hunting for several minutes. I love the random curves, and sparkling inclusions. You did such a mind blowing, fantastic job with this challenge. I'm so very glad I got to see what you created!
Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI love your necklace! It's so different and beautiful. And the back does look fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking. I love the organic nature of the curves and loops in the soutache. Great color choice.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginger,
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love your Soutache design it is gorgeous and a free form to boot.
I like that you did not back it and let the negative space show through. I enjoyed reading about your creative thought process and why you chose the colors you used. I have the supplies to do soutache, but I have not tried it yet.
